Scotty McCreery's Chart Success
American Idol winner and Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope artist Scotty McCreery has soared into the Top 25 on the Billboard charts after only three weeks of the release of his history-making debut single, “I Love You This Big.” He performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last Wednesday.
The song jumped three slots, from No. 28 to No. 25, on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart last week, giving it an increase of 3.5 million more listeners than the previous week. The song had the highest debut on this chart for a new artist’s first single since 1984. It jumped from No. 34 to No. 26 last week on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart, where it was the No. 2 top gainer in country.
Recently, Scotty made his debut performance on the Grand Ole Opry, performed with Josh Turner on LP Field during CMA Music Fest and began recording his debut album. He is now back in Los Angeles to begin rehearsals for the American Idols LIVE! Tour that begins July 6 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and runs through September.
